Building safety & handover

Windows are part of a building's safety case. We plan, record and hand over our work so you can show what was installed, by whom, and to what standard.

Documented procedures, not just a policy

Under the Building Safety Act 2022 and the amended Building Regulations, everyone carrying out building work has dutyholder responsibilities around competence and compliance. We've written specific, signed and version-controlled procedures for each area, and we work to them.

Our competent person scheme is FENSA (Reg. 45140), so replacement windows and doors we install in dwellings are self-certified as compliant with the Building Regulations and notified to building control.

Information you can put straight into your building record

For higher-risk and multi-occupied buildings, the accountable person and principal contractor are responsible for the Golden Thread of building information. Our part is to give you accurate, organised information about the work we did:

  • Product specifications and the fabricator's performance and security test evidence
  • Photo records of each opening before, during and after installation
  • Inspection and test plan records and snag close-outs
  • FENSA certificates and an operation & maintenance manual
  • Clear records of any deviation from the specified design

We don't claim to be "Golden Thread compliant", that's your building's duty. We make sure our part of it is complete and easy to use.

Fire-rated glazing
Where a specification calls for fire-resisting windows, doors or screens, we'll only propose systems with test evidence for the complete assembly, and we'll tell you at tender stage if a requirement sits outside our scope.

We'll send our building-safety procedures, H&S policy, RAMS and training matrix together.
